Cantoland 广东乐园
CANTOLAND was an educational-based project initiated by four students from the Diploma of Chinese Media & Communication. It aimed to preserve and promote the Cantonese dialect and its culture through the use of engaging and interactive online tutorial videos.
Cantoland was a channel of online tutorial videos that educate Singaporean youths, between the age of 7-12, on Cantonese words and sentences. It also provided a good learning platform for youths to understand more about Cantonese culture and its heritage.
The animation videos were all designed and animated by the team. They had since gained 500+ views on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.
An Instagram page was also established to share some simple words and phrases for learning. Even though the targeted audience was 7-12 aged youths, the platform managed to attract teenagers as well. In the end, we achieved 250 followers over the span of 6 months.
Additionally, an i-book was also created for teens and adults to have a better understanding of the project. The team had the opportunity to film and produce videos that showcase how dialect roots are preserved in different places.
